Cameron Hancock

Cam has been a dynamic member of the Seattle music scene since moving to the city in the fall of 2016. After joining a few bands and forming others he's settled on three. The Whags, Coral Grief, and Lightweight Champion showcase his variety and adaptability as a player. He's spent many hours in the studio recording with these groups and as a session player working at Avast Studios, Strange Earth Studios, MRX, Hazy Bay Music, The Unknown and Bear Creek Studios.

In the last few years he's taken up teaching as a way to pass along the musical baton and get others excited about the drums. Though his formal education in music ended after high school, Cam has been a life-long learner and strives to excite students with musical experiences they can't get in a traditional classroom. His lessons are grounded in exploration and cover the gamut of styles, feels and exercises that are available to the drummer.

In addition to playing in bands, Cam has managed The Whags and booked tours for that band and many others that have spanned across the western states.

Matt Hitchcock

Matt Hitchcock is a Seattle-based singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and instructor. With over 20 years of experience, he offers a wealth of knowledge in guitar, piano, bass, and voice. Matt's teaching style is patient and tailored to each student's goals, whether they're picking up an instrument for the first time or are a seasoned pro looking to expand their skills. He emphasizes fun and creativity in his lessons.

Matt started his musical journey from the moment he could speak, singing along to his favorite songs while inventing melodies and new ways to use his voice. He fell in love with the guitar from an early age and was gifted his first guitar at the age of five. After a short stint of introductory lessons, Matt started to explore and create on his own, beginning to write his own music, and self-teach guitar. Curating a unique style blending curious and intentional instrumentation alongside a vivid, depthful, and poetic lyrical approach. Matt continued to spend all of his free time obsessively writing songs, while learning how to play and sing his favorite songs.

At the age of 16 Matt began to take vocal lessons, and started his first band, Beladona, as well as a production internship at Stu Studios in Lake Stevens, WA. Beladona recorded a four song EP Blending Heavy Metal instrumentals with Grunge inspired vocals and lyrics, releasing on CD. They performed at venues throughout Seattle and Western Washington including El Corazon and the now lost Studio Seven before disbanding.

Around this time, he also began to fall in love with the erratic and provoking literature of the Beat generation of authors. Using this alongside a carefully cultivated musical
styling Matt began to formulate his artistic identity. Pulling heavily from stream of consciousness theory.

Matt began his formal education studying Performance Jazz Guitar and Composition at Edmonds College. At this time he greatly expanded his understanding of Music through his lessons with Milo Peterson. He also formed his second band, The Astrolemons, during the covid-19 pandemic. While The Astrolemons never had the opportunity to perform live together, Matt was able to outfit the rental home him and his bandmates shared into a live-in recording studio in order to record the bands garage single “Justice Tired”. Blending Doom Metal, Punk, Mathrock, Rap, Hip Hop, And Jazz into what would be Matts most ambitious project yet. Matt recorded and produced the single.

As the members of The Astrolemons parted ways, Matt continues to create and produce his own work under the pseudonym Hobkni, continuing to push boundaries and develop his ability to speak through music.
